Thirteen-year old Masha Lakisova began her musical journey with piano at age four followed by violin a year later. She is concertmaster of the Midwest Young Artists (MYA) Junior Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Piano Trio Royale.  In addition to her solo performances, she achieved highest awards in the Illinois Music Association Competition, the MYA’s Walgreens National Concerto Competition, the National Discover Chamber Music Competition, the National Granquist Geneva Days Music Competition, the DePaul Concerto Festival, the American Protégé Piano and Strings Solo and Concerto Competitions and others. She has performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Chicago Cultural Center, Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall, and Northwestern University’s Pick-Staiger Hall. Lakisova has also been featured in WFMT’s Introductions.

Upon graduating from the Belorussian State Conservatory’s School of Music for Gifted Children, Lyudmila Lakisova, mother of Masha, became a recital pianist and accompanist for the Belorussian State Philharmonic Chamber Choir and performed with the Belorussian State Philharmonic. She has been a featured soloist with many orchestras in the Chicago area and performed in many well-known venues such as the Eastman School of Music in Rochester (NY), Chicago’s Harris Theatre, Bennett Gordon Hall at Ravinia and Carnegie Hall. Lakisova has also given performances on the Steinway Society Concert Series and was featured on WFMT. In previous years, she toured extensively in England, Africa, and Asia. In addition to her solo and chamber performances, Lakisova has become well-known in Chicago music circles as an accompanist, piano teacher and chamber music coach.
