Knox-Galesburg Symphony First Chairs ForwardNon-Subscription Recital
Featureing works by Grieg, Poulenc and Shostakovich

Louise Polay has been with the KGS since 1984, now as concertmaster. She currently teaches violin at Knox and Carl Sandburg Colleges; has taught Suzuki violin both privately and in classes; and has taught piano for many years.
Carolyn Suda, KGS principal cellist, is a member of the music faculty at Monmouth College and adjunct faculty at Knox College. In addition to her academic schedule, she maintains a large studio of private cello students, and conducts the Monmouth College Chamber Orchestra, Knox College String Ensemble and Cello Choir.
Carol Neuleib, KGS principal flute, received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Illinois State University. She is a member of the Classique Woodwind Quintet of the Quad Cities, music director at the First Congregational UCC Church in Geneseo (IL) where she also conducts private flute lessons.
Dr. Bruce Polay, professor of music and chair of the Knox College Music Department, has been artistic director/conductor of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony since 1983. He maintains an active piano performance schedule including performances in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, as a recitalist in Europe and the U.S., and has judged international piano competitions in Italy and Canada.
