Carolyn Suda, KGS principal cellist, teaches in the music faculty at Monmouth College and is also an adjunct faculty member at Knox College. In addition to her academic schedule, she maintains a large studio of private cello students, and conducts the Monmouth College Chamber Orchestra, Knox College String Ensemble and Cello Choir.
Eric Ginsberg, KGS principal clarinet, is professor of music in clarinet at Western Illinois University, clarinetist in the resident Camerata Woodwind Quintet and, in the summer, he performs and teaches at the Brevard Music Center (NC). He was a member of the Oklahoma, Omaha, and Lincoln Symphonies, and visiting professor of clarinet at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Dr. Bruce Polay, professor of music and chair of the Knox College Music Department, has been the artistic director/ conductor of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony since 1983. He maintains an active piano performance schedule which includes recitals in the U.S. and Europe as well as performing in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. Polay has judged international piano competitions in Italy and Canada.
