David Suda, professor of history at Monmouth College who came there by way of a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, served as concertmaster of the KGS from 1984-2007.  He has served as concertmaster of the Atlanta Opera Orchestra and Atlanta Ballet and performed with the Georgia State University String Quartet and the Emory University Piano Trio.

Carolyn Suda, KGS principal cellist since the 1984-85 season, has performed as guest principal cello for the American Ballet Theatre and Boston Ballet. She has served as clinician at string workshops and institutes in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.

Bruce Polay, award-winning conductor and artistic director of the KGS and professor of music at Knox College, is  an accomplished performer and composer.  He has performed in Carnegie Hall, in Europe and throughout the U.S. Polay has received numerous composition honors, including prestigious ASCAP Awards each year since 1994 and the prestigious Illinois Council of Orchestras 2008 Cultural Leadership Award among many others.
