The Galesburg Symphony Society will present its 8th annual Casino Night Gala and Silent Auction at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24 at Legends Banquet Hall in Galesburg. The event, an annual fundraiser to benefit the award-winning Knox-Galesburg Symphony (KGS), will include a silent auction, official casino games, desserts, cash bar, and the Bob Clark Trio. It takes over 700 volunteer hours to present the Galesburg Symphony Society’s Casino Night Gala and Silent Auction, the only annual fund raiser event for the KGS. Tickets (must be age 21) include admission to the auction, ten dollars ($10) in gambling chips (additional chips available for purchase), entertainment, and desserts. For the first time, available only through December 30 a reduced Holiday pricing is being offered on a purchase of four tickets at $75.00 – a $100.00 value! After December 30, tickets will be twenty-five dollars ($25) per person. The silent auction will offer an assortment of over 200 items from area businesses, casinos and organizations ranging from $10.00 to $900.00. Last year, the combined total value of auction items was over $20,000. Items to be auctioned will consist of a wide spectrum of merchandise and services including casino packages, memorabilia, collectibles, jewelry, specialty items, music instruments, auto services, household merchandise, apparel, landscaping, memberships, restaurant meals, sports activities, gift certificates and gift baskets to name a few.
From 7:00 p.m. to midnight, guests will have the opportunity to try their luck with “official” casino games including the popular Texas Hold’em, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, and a 50/50 drawing Entertainment from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will feature the Bob Clark Trio with Bob Clark (clarinet, saxophone and flute), David Sherrard, drums and Nicole Malley, vibes. Las Vegas Review background music will continue throughout the evening to add to the Casino atmosphere.
Those interested in attending are urged to purchase tickets in advance as admission is limited due to capacity restrictions. While supply lasts, tickets will be available at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
