Margaret Carlson’s elegant musical style and onstage presence has been compared to Julie Andrews and Maureen McGovern. Chicago Tribune music critic Howard Reich commented: “Exquisite phrasing and uncommonly intelligent lyric reading…a first rate vocalist.”
Carlson has toured the U.S. singing in resorts, clubs and on numerous television and radio commercials. She was awarded Elmhurst College Jazz Festival’s prestigious “Outstanding Musicianship” Award and received a Grammy nomination for her “This Christmas…My Favorite Things” in the “Best Traditional Pops Vocal Album” category.
Today, Carlson performs her beautifully orchestrated arrangements with symphonies around the country.
