Nicole (Nikki) Malley, 1998 Knox College bachelor’s degree recipient, is director of Jazz Studies at Knox College and a tenure-track instructor in the music department. She directs the Knox Jazz Ensemble, the Knox Cherry Street Combo, the Rootabaga Jazz Festival, and teaches World Music, History of Jazz, Music of the African Diaspora and 20th Century Music. She has performed as a jazz and classical percussionist throughout Illinois for the past twelve years including appearances with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony, the Knox College Jazz Ensemble, the Knox College Cherry Street Jazz Combo, the Knox-Sandburg Community Band, the Knox College String Ensemble, the Knox College Choir, the Nova Singers and, from 1995-2005, on vibraphone with the Defenestration Quartet.
