One of the most famous orchestra conductors in Latin America and a gifted artist, Enrique Batiz has won international popularity and fame. His interpretations produce the deepest and most profound emotion. Since 1971, Batiz has been conductor of the State of Mexico Philharmonic Orchestra except for 7 years when he conducted the Mexico City Philharmonic. Since 1984, Batiz has been a permanent guest conductor of the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. As a guest conductor, he has led more than 500 orchestras around the world. The repertory of Batiz ranges from classical to contemporary works. He has been described as an artist who conducts with vehemence and enthusiasm, manifesting a deep understanding, unusual even among the finest of conductors. Venezuelan born Francesco Marchan, a member of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony, has served as principal violist with the Roswell Symphony, New Mexico, and Opera Illinois as well as co-principal with Midland Odessa Symphony Orchestra (Texas). His orchestral and chamber performances have taken him throughout the United States, New Mexico, Puerto Rico, Italy, France, England, Scotland, Colombia, Mexico Ecuador, West Indies and Venezuela. In violin, Marchan earned a Bachelor degree at Queens College of the City University of New York and a Masters and DMA in viola and violin at Texas Tech University.
