WELCOME to the 60th Anniversary Season of the award-winning Knox-Galesburg Symphony

As we enter the 60th season of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony (KGS) we can be proud of its reputation as a “magnificent cultural treasure.” The KGS continues to bring metropolitan-level performance standards, world-class artists, and a rich diversity of educational opportunities for people of all ages in Galesburg and surrounding communities. We are proud to be representatives of both Knox College and the City of Galesburg and look forward to many more years of engaging our audiences with memorable performances and innovative programs that enliven our community and enrich west central Illinois.

Among its many national, state and local accolades, the outstanding legacy of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony (KGS) has been consistently recognized by the Illinois Council of Orchestras (ICO) 17 times in 10 different categories including the prestigious Illinois Conductor of the Year three times to Dr. Bruce Polay most recently in the Professional Orchestras category, as well as the Illinois Cultural Leadership Award, Illinois Programming of the Year Award and the KGS is a three time recipient of the Illinois Orchestra of the Year Award.
