WELCOME to the 63rd Season of the award-winning Knox-Galesburg Symphony
As we enter the 63rd season of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony, we can be proud of its reputation as a “magnificent cultural treasure.” The KGS continues to bring metropolitan-level performance standards, world-class artists, and a plentiful spectrum of educational opportunities for all ages in Galesburg and surrounding communities. We are proud to be representatives of both Knox College and the City of Galesburg while engaging our audiences with innovative programming that enlivens our community and enriches west central Illinois.
Among its many national, state and local accolades, the outstanding legacy of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony (KGS) has been consistently recognized by the Illinois Council of Orchestras (ICO) 18 times in 10 different categories including the prestigious Illinois Conductor of the Year three times to Dr. Bruce Polay, as well as the Illinois Cultural Leadership Award, and Illinois Programming of the Year Award. The KGS is a three time recipient of the Illinois Orchestra of the Year Award and most recently 2nd time recipient of the Illinois Community Relations of the Year Award among others.
